Fork in the Road
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
There are times in the outdoors when we come to a split or fork in the path that we are on. We’ve all been there, if we have spent any amount of time exploring God’s creation. We often come to a place where we have to make a choice to take the wide path with a lot of footprints or take the narrow and rough path. I’ve found that often when we take the path less traveled, while it might be the hard road, with many obstacles, when you get past the hard trek, the results and the view are amazing. We can look back and think, “It was worth the effort”.
I was thinking about this verse today and was reminded how many times I have had an instance where I had to choose between two paths to follow. One way I believe to be the best, but another that continuously "nags" at me to choose the path I was not considering. I see you Holy Spirit.
Once I realize God is trying to tell me which way to go, then I can rest knowing which is the RIGHT path to follow. My way may have been more fun, easier, or quicker but what would I miss that God is trying to show me or tell me? God's way is always the right way. There may be some tight curves or difficult hills/mountains to climb but there is always something we are going to learn along the way. The lesson may be about God, or it may be about us. God may be trying to dispel the lies Satan is telling us and we need to take God's path to see that. The closer we are to God, not only reading His Word but LISTENING for Him, we recognize when He is speaking to us more quickly. Are you truly listening?
Don't miss what he has for you. It will ALWAYS be worth it.
