GODLY PATHS
Proverbs 4:26
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
There was a time when I ran the hunting operations for a couple of fairly large lodges. Part of my job was to take care of predators for the operations. While I didn't have the time to spend setting traps or doing the varmint calling, my dad and his trapping partners had the time and desire. What they did was travel around the inside of the woven fences (one of them had over 16 miles of exterior fences) and find where the coyotes and other predators had dug under the fence. In some of these places the animals had passed safely for many years and felt very comfortable, but it was a false sense of security. One day they would go through the same hole and they were in trouble.
Such is life for many people. We get so comfortable in what we are doing we don't even know that we are slipping out of a godly pattern and into a sinful one. Before we know it we are in the grip of sin with no easy way out.
The writer of Proverbs says this same thing.
Proverbs 14:12
"There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death."
Many coyotes, felt the way they had always traveled was right, but in the end it meant death to them.
Don't allow yourself to become caught up in a comfortable life style that is leading you down the wrong path.
Later in Proverbs we see a promise about committing ourselves, our plans and paths to the Lord.
Proverbs 16:3-4
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. 4 The Lord works out everything to its proper end— even the wicked for a day of disaster.
Continually follow GODLY PATHS and He will bless you because of it.
