HE'S OPENING DOORS, WALK THROUGH THEM

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

I once had a hunter that no matter what I told him, he did something different.  If I told him to sit against one tree, he would automatically sit against a different tree.  If I said don't leave this spot until noon, he would be gone by 11:00.  He hunted with me 3 times in two years and he's  probably the only one that hunted with me 3 times and never had a chance for a harvest.  The reason is simple, he wouldn't listen to the one that was in charge and was doing what he thought was best instead.

Most of us will reach out to the Lord when we're struggling to know what direction to go in life, or when we're in trouble.  We pray for God to show us His will for our life.  Often God will open one door after another where He wants us, and we keep praying to see His will, not liking His answer.  We tell ourselves and others that we're patiently waiting for God's answer,  when what we're really waiting for is an answer that we like and want.

Remember that hunter that was with me 3 times and left unsuccessfully each time.  It was because He didn't listen to the one that knew best, the one in charge.

God wants us to follow His will and do what He wants us to do and go where He wants us to go... but if we don't catch on to what His calling is, eventually God will give us what we want or allow us to go where we want.  But when we make the choice that He didn't choose for us, its far more work to get back to what He wanted for us. Pray for God's direction,  watch for open doors, then step out in faith.

Have you ever felt like the hunter from the earlier story? We say that we want to know God's will for our lives, but when He reveals what it is, we can't handle it. It sounds too difficult and too uncomfortable. We decide to look elsewhere. When He says, "Let go of the things that stand between you and Me, and trust Me with your life;" it sounds far too scary. But when we let go, we find freedom and safety in His hands.

You need to listen to the One in charge, forget about the safety line and simply trust in Him.  He's got your wellbeing at heart.  He lovingly created you and He wants to see you reach your best.  Trust Him... He loves you and wants the best for you.
