HIS GLORY ON DISPLAY
Psalm 89:6
For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD. Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD?
The above photo was taken at sunrise from my back yard. The sky was ablaze with the light and clouds appearing as a ocean of red hot lava flowing across the sky. I don't recall ever seeing the sky looking quite like this before. When I saw it, it immediately brought to my mind the awesome creation of our awesome God. As the verse in Psalms states: ......"who is compared to the LORD? .......who is like the LORD?" Obviously, this is a rhetorical question that only has one answer; NO ONE! Only an almighty God can create such an awesome scene.
Our God is the Creator of all things. Genesis 1:1 tells us that God has the power to and did indeed create the heavens and the earth. God is the source of life and the intricate design found in nature. Creation itself screams the evidence of the existence and the nature of God. All His creation reflects His power and creativity. Psalm 19:1 states " The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands".
As beautiful as the sky was when I took that sunrise photo, the bibles tells us that humans are God's most prized creation. Humans were made in His image. (Genesis 1:26-27).
We also know that man was created in a sinless state but rebelled against God and therefore that sinful condition was passed to all humans that followed. God's creative work is not just limited to the original act of creation. He continues to create and renew. Psalms 51:10 speaks of God creating a clean heart within us. The renewing and regeneration is accomplished by the work on the cross by the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Man destroyed that perfect harmony with God and is condemned to eternal judgment and death. But, there is "good news". John 3:16 give us the good news; "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life".
You too can be made new. You can become a new creature in the sight of an all holy God. As the verse states, place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and what He did when He came to earth as a sacrifice for our sins and you will be made new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
