Muy Grande

Psalm 86:13

For Your graciousness toward me is great,

And You have saved my soul from the depths of Sheol

As a very young man I remember reading about a special deer hunting competition in deep south Texas.  I dreamt of hunting the area and being at the measuring activities during the hunting season.  Bucks from all over South Texas come to the small town of Freer, Texas to a restaurant, gas station, convenience store, feed store and gift shop to enter their bucks in the Muy Grande Big Buck competition.

The last few years I’ve stopped into the Muy Grande store and looked around.  This year I was so blessed to do an interview with the owners along with the pastor (and his wife) of the Muy Grande Ministries.

Each year, for the last 62 years, the Muy Grande staff measure 100’s of deer antlers.  Bucks are scored for several different categories, and the best score wins the prize.

In the Spanish translation of the Bible we can find the words Muy Grande in Psalms 86:13.  In this chapter David finds himself in need of God’s help as he is under attack by many men seeking to kill him.  David’s words to God declare that His “graciousness is Great”  (Muy Grande”

David also said that even if he were to die in this situation that he is sure that God will save him after his death.  You and can rest assured that God is not only good…  He is always Great, and He will always protect us when we are working in His service.  We need not worry if we are His child.  We know that if we were to have our life taken, He will still raise us from the grave like He did with His Son.

We can always count on Him, His love is Muy Grande
