Preparing For Fruit

Romans 12:1-2
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

My friend Gary has been  coming up to help me the last few years with food plots for deer hunting.  He's been a huge help as I don't have the time or the equipment to get them done on my own each year.

Last year Gary and I spent a few very productive days preparing the soils, fertilizing and planting.  Then God gave us the rains at just the right time.  Then when fall came we had an abundance of nice bucks on our food plots.

Those plots are an annual exercise.  I have a friend that plants a lot of apple trees to produce fruit for future deer use.  There is a lot more commitment to that, and if done right it will produce fruit for many years into the future.

If we hadn't prepared those fields or trees, there would have been no crop and nothing for the deer to eat there and they would have wandered to they could eat.

This past week, during a college commencement ceremony,  I heard the speaker say this small comment; "We can not expect to do great things for God tomorrow, if we are not preparing our hearts today."

Are we allowing God to prepare the soils of our hearts to prepare fruit in our lives?  John, chapter 15, tells us that we must remain in a close walk with God to produce good fruit in our lives.  If we allow Him, it's God the Prepares the soils in our lives.  Then in John 16:8 it says;
"My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples."

When we produce Godly fruit it glories God.  When we glorify God,  we receive blessings and that cycle continues to produce more fruit which continues to glorify God, which gives us blessings... etc..

Are you allowing God to prepare you for tomorrow fruit production?
