The Lord Will Do Amazing Things

By Joel Raygor

Joshua 3:5: "Then Joshua told the people, 'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you."

In just a few days I'll hang the trail cameras and trim out some shooting lanes. Then for the next few weeks I'll glass the fields and timber, gathering additional intel. Finally I'll start watching the temperature and wind direction before picking those best pre-rut and rut days to be in the woods. The more knowledge I gain, the better my odds are of successfully filling my tag this fall.

What if I told you there's a proven strategy that has led to the taking of many mature bucks? Would that get your attention? Well there is, and I'll share it now!  First find a high concentration deer property, and then gain access.  Next identify the bedding and feeding areas. Walk the land looking for well worn deer trails and old scrapes or rubs from previous years. Visualize deer movement and look for natural funnels. Carefully pick your hunting stand locations, while keeping in mind possible wind directions and easy access, so you can remain undetected. This is not a guarantee of a big buck this fall, but if you do these things, your likelihood of opportunities will go way up.

Likewise in life, there are no guarantees for tomorrow. The Bible does not promise that tomorrow will always be easy. In fact the Bible tells us we don't know what tomorrow might bring.

Proverbs 27:1: "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

However, the Bible does promise that regardless of what happens tomorrow, God's grace and mercies are new every morning, and He is already waiting there to take care of us. In fact the scriptures tell us God will do amazing things tomorrow. We know that with God's guidance, there is no need to fear what tomorrow brings and we can be confident that our likelihood of opportunities goes way up.

Deuteronomy 31:8  "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged."

Philippians 1:6 – "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
