YOUR HAND OF BLESSING
YOUR HAND OF BLESSING
Joel Gaygor
Psalm 139:5
You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
A few days ago, after a successful morning in the timber, I took a few photos and then sat next to the big old longbeard Gobbler and thought about all the people who were instrumental in getting me to that very spot. There was my dad, but there were also a number of other men who years past had taken me on hunting adventures and encouraged my love of the hunt. I got thinking about other areas of my life and how God had brought the right people into my life at just the right time to bring me to where I am today.
God is famous for caring and preparing us for great things. He walks ahead of us to fight the battles we fear. He knows the road we will travel and He promises to lead us.
I can't help but think about Samuel who stopped and took time to remember how God had brought him through the battle and to that very spot. He proclaimed, "Thus far the LORD has helped us," establishing a permanent, tangible reminder of God's protection and faithfulness by placing a stone on that spot and naming it Ebenezer.
1 Samuel 7:12 "Thus far the LORD has helped us,"
Regardless of what you are dealing with, stop and take a moment to thank God for where you are and what He has brought you through.
Prayer: "Heavenly Father, Thank You for the people you have placed in my life for encouragement. Thank You for daily provisions and for bringing me to this very spot. Help me to be grateful for where I am and forgive me for the times I have doubted You. Thank You for Your amazing grace that cleanses me. Amen"
