Be Still

Psalm 46:10
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth."

Being still is not easy for us in today's world. It means that we have to stop doing, stop scrolling, stop planning, stop talking, stop watching, and stop hash-tagging. It means that we STOP/cease all activity.

Today as I sit on my patio and breathe in the fresh air and feel this summer gift we've been given of this crisp, pre-Fall, low 50's degree weather, I watch and listen for the hummingbirds chattering to each other and flitting around as they tank up on some homemade nectar I use to feed them thru the summer while they are visiting here, to help sustain them on their journey to come. I enjoy observing God's beautiful creation wherever that is. It may be in our backyard or walking thru the woods or by a stream or in the mountains or on the beach. Wherever I am, I love to experience Gods creation. He is truly a beautiful Creator of all things. It is in this setting that I am most able to quiet myself and my thoughts and listen for His voice.

Do you take time to sit and listen for God and read His Word? Give it a try. Still yourself however is best for you and listen. He IS speaking. Shhh. Do you hear it?  Have a blessed day today.
