GOD'S AMAZING POWER
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
I'm always amazed by the power of a rifle in the hands of a good marksman. Consider a small caliber rifle, like a .223 Winchester. The casing is smaller than my little finger and the bullet weighs about ½ as much as a marshmallow. This little gun can reach distances out to nearly 3 miles.
All that being said, that little cartridge has absolutely no power unless it is unleashed. Unless someone pulls the trigger the casing could lay there in a drawer for a lifetime. The powder holds the power inside, but if no one pulls the trigger it is basically a paperweight.
The connection to these verses is that God is able to do beyond what we expect. But more amazingly, this power is already at work in us. We don't have to wait for it... Just allow him to work in and through us. The Holy Spirit is ready and waiting with His finger on the trigger, we just have to say, "let's go".
What is truly mind blowing here is that God does not fit the limitations of our expectations. If we could only imagine and grasp not only his amazing power, but more importantly His unmeasurable love... We would realize that we have a power source that will overcome any issue we face today, tomorrow and forever!
God's ways and thoughts are exceedingly beyond our ways and thoughts. The Holy Spirit is at work and eager to work in us to achieve his purposes. Allow Him to do this in and through you today... And be amazed.
He teaches, guides, rebukes and corrects us. He is forming and transforming, fashioning and refining our inner man. He is guiding and directing us; teaching and training us and the more that we yield to Him.. the more exceedingly abundantly will be the inner transformation into the image and likeness of Christ - until we can say with Paul – "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." (Galatians 2:20)
