HIS POWER IN US

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

I've seen some big and bad storms throughout the years.  Linda and I have lived close to both Lake Michigan  and Lake Superior our entire lives. For 4 years while I went to college could almost see the shore of the biggest of the Great Lakes.  We watched huge storms blow all the way across that great lake from Canada  and crash into the lighthouses and breakwalls on the US side of the lake.  We lived within a few yards of shore, on the coast of Kodiak Island where we could see out into the waters where some deadliest  water in the world are and the Deadliest Catch TV series is filmed.  We've spent many months high on the mountain in the Colorado Rockies where in early fall clouds would cover the mountains and when they blow away the mountain is covered with a heavy layer of snow and ice. We lived through storms that others didn't live through and fished in places where boats have gone down with everyone on board.  All that and we've never experienced anything  as powerful as the power of God in and through us.

The point here, in the scripture above, is not merely that God is able to do beyond what we expect, but more amazingly, this power is already at work in us.  We don't have to wait for it... Just allow him to work through us.

What is truly mind blowing here is that God does not fit any of the limitations of our expectations. If we could only imagine and grasp not only his amazing power, but more importantly His unmeasurable love...  We would realize that we have a power source that will overcome any issue we face today, tomorrow and forever!

God's ways and thoughts are exceedingly beyond our ways and thoughts. God is at work and eager to work in us to achieve his purposes.  Allow HIM to do this in and through you today...  And be amazed.

There is no Midian army,  no protected city of Jericho, no giant of the Philistine soldiers that can stand against the power of our God. All we need to do is trust like Gideon did, march forward like Joshua did and stand against the giants in life like David did... and He will show us His awesome power and His love.

Lastly...  To HIM be the glory... Not me and not anyone else.
