LIVE IT OUT
Deuteronomy 11:18
"You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes."
I've read literally thousands of hunting and fishing articles in my life in countless magazines, books and websites. I've learned much in those writings. For years I read about rattling antlers to attract bucks, but until I went out and actually did it, it wasn't real to me.
After reading about rattling for so long, one evening my dad and I talked about the next morning's bowhunt. He suggested that we give rattling a try. We got to the place we were going to hunt and he went up in the climbing stand? While I sat on the ground and waited for good light. Once it was light enough, I crashed those antlers together, then ground them against one another to simulate two bucks fighting. After a minute or two of pretending to sound like a battle is stopped.
Within seconds I could hear a deer running up behind us. I stretched to see what was coming. Eventually I could see nice 4 point buck coming our way. From the treestand above me I could hear my dad draw his bow then release the arrow.
Within a couple minutes of my first time rattling antlers, we had a buck harvested. All of those countless articles about rattling now made sense. I never knew the true experience of it until I read it over and over again... then I lived it out.
Ronald Reagan once said, "within the cover of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face".
It doesn't matter your view on anything else in life, this is true.
God didn't inspire the writing of the bible for His sake, it was to direct the lives of the billions of people that would come after. Even today it answers the questions of life. Those that say it has no meaning in today's world, aren't reading it and living it out.
I challenge you today. Consider what you are struggling with and google those words with the word Bible... Then start reading the scriptures. All of the "self help" books, put all together, can not answer the issues of our lives like the Word of God.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 says this,
"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."... God has already covered it.
Spending time in God's word will give you direction when you face tough situations. Check it out, put it in practice in your life and make it a habit.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
