REAL IMITATION

Ephesians 5:1-2
Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

In my storage room and sometimes all around the house you will find several different kinds decoys; duck, goose, deer, turkey and elk etc... I have more game calls than I could use in three lifetimes, bugles, box calls, tube calls, slate calls, diaphragm calls, grunt calls, owl, duck, goose, squirrel, varmint, elk, moose, bear calls, rattling antlers etc...

My favorite call to use is my voice.  I often walk out my back door and when I hear a bird or animal, I mimic its call.  I rarely go in the woods without imitating something.  It one of my favorite parts of hunting.

In our lives as Christians, we have but One to imitate, Jesus Christ. One of the ways Jesus taught us to imitate God is by loving those He came to seek and to save. He loved us, even to the point of death. That is being like God; and that is what is going to attract others to take God's "bait" and accept His gift of salvation.

John 13:35 says,  "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Being a Christian isn't all that complicated. The very word "Christian" means "Christ-like". We are to simply be like Jesus, and, therefore, be like God. To do that, we must love as Jesus loved .
