Walk Through The Puddles In Life Or Walk Around Them?

Romans 8:39 No height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I had been up all night at work.  It was looking like it was going to be a beautiful morning and turkey season was just a week away, so I figured it would be a good day to do some scouting.  Throughout the morning I located several gobblers for the first group of hunters I had coming and I just had one more road to check out before heading home to get some sleep.

I was about 7 miles in on the dirt road when I came to a wide puddle covering the road.  I had been through here many times in the past and had never had an issue…  So I drove in.  When I got to the middle of the puddle I felt the truck fall into a hole.  I quickly put the truck in reverse, but it was too late.  I was stuck… and I was stuck REALLY bad.

I had to walk 7 miles to the first house, where no one was home and then another mile to find someone who would drive back in to pull me out.  It was 8:00 pm before I got home and got to bed.

How deep are the puddles in your life.  We need to have confidence of our security in the Lord and not worrying about how deep the puddles are.

Wouldn’t it be great to again have the carefree confidence as a child walking in the rain splashing in the puddles not worrying about their depth. To not have a concern that if we go in over our heads, someone is there to pull us out…  Someone is there.

Remember the days when our children were young and while they were walking with us they wanted to hold our hands, but as they grew older and became more confident in themselves, they would let go and walk on their own. The times it was raining or had just finished raining, you'd walk down a gravel lane or in a parking lot and your child would walk ahead of you care free of what lay ahead or what the next step may bring splashing through the puddles not caring how deep they were. Trusting we were there for them unconditionally. Just as God did yesterday, today and tomorrow and forever for us. Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.

In Matt.14:29-32 Peter was walking on water towards Jesus until he became afraid and began to sink. Jesus reached down and took his hand and said “you of little faith why did you doubt”.  They then both got into the boat and the seas calmed.

How true is this of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his love for us and what He did on the cross for me and you. A parents love is great, God loved us so much He created this world for us and gave His one and only Son Jesus as Ransom for us.

1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.
