EASY TIMES AND HARD TIMES, GOD TAKES CARE OF HIS CHILDREN, THROUGH BOTH
Today's devotional was written by Christi Ray, a close friend of God's Great Outdoors. As you read it, please know that this is a lady who has children with huge health issues and her husband (a pastor) who had had massive heart attacks. She's lived through it all because of her faith.
Romans 5:3-5
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
God spoke to me while putting up peas last night. Some of the peas had to be shelled, washed and then put up while others (we bought already shelled), only had to be washed and put in the freezer-MUCH easier.
He reminded me that sometimes things in life seem to come a little easier and don't require as much work while others seem to be a little bit or sometimes a lot more difficult. Sometimes you wanna quit and not finish the assignment that He has given you. I'm always thankful when I see things through, reacting the right way, doing things the way that He has called me to. There's just not a better feeling.
Just remember that even if things are hard right now, if God has called you to it, He will definitely see you through it.
You definitely reap the benefits when you choose to stick it out even when it's hard. Just like these peas will be yummy for months to come, the hard trials that we face will be so worth the reward if we stay at it.
