THE RIGHT TRACK
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
It had been a long day, Pat had hit the bull elk with an arrow right after first light in the morning. Now it was late afternoon and my brother Dave and I were still on the track. The blood trail that had started strong was now nearly non-existent. Sometimes we were following a partial track and once every 25-50 yards we would find a speck of blood.
At one point, a mile or two into the trail, we came across a bear track on top of the bulls track. The Bear was following the same blood that we were. Unfortunately he was keeping bull on his feet and pushing him.
Finally after 6 1/2 hours of tracking we peeked over a small ridge and there was the bull bedded in the middle of a old dry beaver pond area. Pat quickly.dispatched the bull with another well placed arrow.
For those that are followers of Jesus we need to continually be sure we are still on the blood trail that He left for us to follow. Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb that shed His blood so that those that believe on Him could be forgiven of their sins. Without that we have no hope.
As Dave and I would blood trail together, we would keep each other on the right track. As children of Jesus Christ we need to have others around us to make sure we remain on the good and perfect blood trail.
Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Keep a brother or sister in Christ close and keep each other on the right blood trail. Alone we may stumble or lose sight of the blood trail. Together we can keep each other where we need to be.
Ephesians 2:13
"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."
